[C#m]Hand held loosely [G#m]at his side,
[A]Yesterday's [E]paper
telling [B7]yesterday's [E]news.
{c: Chorus 1}
So [A]how can you [G#m]tell me you're [E]lo[B/D#]ne[C#m]ly[E/B]
[F#/A#] And you say for [F#]you that the sun don't [B]shine?
[E]Let me take you [B]by the hand and

she [C#m]just keeps right on [G#m]walking,
[A]Carrying her [E]home in two [B7]carrier [E]bags.
{c: Chorus 2}
So [A]how can you [G#m]tell me you're [E]lo[B/D#]ne[C#m]ly[E/B]
[F#/A#] And you say for [F#]you that the sun don't [B]shine?

out[C#m]side the seamen's [G#m/B]mission?
[A]Memory fading [E/G#]with the medal [A]ribbons he [B]wears.
And [E]in our winter [B/D#]city the rain [C#m]cries a little [G#m/B]pity,
For [A]one more forgotten [E]hero
in a [B7]world that doesn't [E]care.
{c: Chorus 4}
So [A]how can you [G#m]tell me you're [E]lo[B/D#]ne[C#m]ly[E/B]
[F#/A#] And you say for [F#]you that the sun don't [B]shine?
